Watercolour has a reputation for being a difficult medium - unlike oils or acrylics it's difficult to paint out mistakes.

But the joy of watercolour is the effects you get when you just allow it to do its own thing and let the magic happen.

So rather than controlling it we can play with it and respond to it. Encourage it to flow, run and mingle and then see where the painting wants to take you. Whether you start with a vague idea, or just a colour mix you like the fun is in exploring what you can create from the artistic chaos!
